The Sports & Unity Showcase is the inaugural signature event created and hosted by Purpose Beyond Play, a global platform dedicated to guiding athletes transitioning to life after sports.

Purpose Beyond Play has created its first-ever Sports and Unity Showcase as an extension of our mission. This Showcase is not just about the game, it’s about uniting people, building bridges, and amplifying impact.

Sports is a universal language, no matter where we’re from or what language we speak, it has the power to unite us. This Showcase is a powerful example of how sports can bridge cultures, create opportunities, and spark purpose-driven impact.

For our first-ever Showcase, we are honored to have the event integrated into this year’s Africa Day celebrations in Chicago as we proudly recognize and celebrate the richness of Africa. We are excited to welcome the Comoros Men’s National Basketball Team to the United States for the very first time to participate. This historic occasion will bring together international diplomats, local leaders, and diverse communities, all gathered in the spirit of unity through sport.

This marks the first time a sports showcase has been integrated into Chicago’s Africa Day, adding new depth to the cultural experience and programming.
